Ju Jitsu coming from the Japanese words of Ju and Jitsu. Ju means gentle and Jitsu means art. Its a martial art of striking and grappling technique. Jiu jitsu has many different styles. the most famous style of jiu jitsu is the Brazillian jiujitsu. it specialized in ground fighting technique spread by the Gracie family who was a fighting champion worldwide.
However, Ju jitsu i'd learned was different with The Brazillian. It was called I-Kyushin Ryu. A japanese Jiu jitsu style. It encompass many technic from punches, kicks, throws, joint lock, use of pressure points and ground combat. Emphasis is on close quarter combat.
Although this isn't my first martial art, i love it. Before, i've taken classes of Muay Thai (thai boxing), Wushu and aikido. All of this is very nice, but i prefer Ju jitsu better. Its because you learned everything from standing fight to daily self defence. Not to mention the shensei and senpai that welcome u with their warm hand. i've learned this for 1 year now.
